DistanceEducation

Themodern world is changing very fast in terms of social, economic, technological, and environmental demands. Education is always thebasis for the changes that have been experienced. No wonder learninghas moved from traditional classroom to online learning. There aremany reasons why most people are moving to online learning todaywhich will be discussed briefly in this essay.

Onlineclasses offer a flexible schedule which allows the learner to jugglebetween other activities like work, sports or holiday with schooling(College Atlas, n.d). Teenagers today are not ready to adapt to the9am-5pm classroom time as they are busy working. At this stage theyare strong and want to engage in various activities rather than beconfined in the walls of a classroom.

Inaddition, unlike in traditional learning where some students areisolated from discussion due to different learning speed, onlinelearners enjoy equity. They are able to learn at their own pace, andparticipate fully with other students and instructors. With increasedtechnology, students can comment on lecture notes, videos anddiscussion forums easily than they could in traditional classrooms(College Atlas, n.d).

Consequently, today’s technology has made life quite interesting. Onlineeducation has taken advantage of these technologies like onlinedatabases, integrated management systems for learning institutionsmaking it even more easy and interesting for online learners. Onedoes not have to carry books everywhere they are to study, but canstudy from anywhere from their tablet, PC or even a phone. With thebusy life schedule of most people, this has presented an opportunityfor students to pursue their education and live their life withoutstress. The acceptance of online degrees worldwide has also openedmore opportunities for people, attracting a large audience.
