Theword leadership is associated with several figures. This includepolitical leaders who provide political representation for themasses, social and community leader whom other people in a socialgroup follow and organization executives who are directly responsiblefor the smooth running of the business organization. Therefore, leadership helps other people do the right thing. For example, if theleader of a group cutting a path through a jungle follows the wrongdirection, the whole group will be lost. Similarly, if the leadershipin an organization adopts the wrong strategy, the organization willultimately fail. This leadership involves creating a clear andreasonable vision and mission, sharing the vision and motivatingpeople to willingly follow the vision, supporting the followersthrough sharing information and knowledge on how to achieve thevision, and coordination the conflicting interests in the group.Leadership has the responsibility of identifying skills that arenecessary, brings them on board and guiding them towards the desiredgoals. It is important to note that leadership is usually confusedwith management. While management is a learned skill which is taughtin school, leadership is learnt through experience, mentoring andcoaching. Whenever one thinks about leadership, business leadershipcomes into the picture. However, leadership is involved in allaspects of the human society. This larger focus on businessleadership is mainly because of the more developed structures anddemand of leadership in the business environment. Business leadershipis also widely studies in colleges and universities. This has led tothe development of several leadership theories, styles andapproaches. These leadership theories, styles and approaches arehowever, are applicable in all aspect of leadership, despite beingmainly derived from business and military (DuBrin, 2011).

The impact of technology in themodern world is difficult to measure or quantify. All aspects of lifeare affected by technology. Reference to the impacts of technology onhuman life has focused on advanced technologies such as computers, robots and genetic engineering. However, technologies that are notconsidered in these discussions have a huge impact on the modernworld. For example, a ballpoint pen may be a simple technology buthas had a huge impact on human life. Some of the most important waysthrough which technology help human societies include increasedaccess to information, improved communication, improved lifestyles, entertainment, increased efficiency and productivity, convenience, new social networking sites, improved security and enhanced health. Thus, technologies are associated with great discoveries in allaspects of life. Despite this, there are some technologies that havebeen associated with negative impacts on human societies. Criticshave argued that some of the technologies such as geneticmodification, nuclear energy, computer systems and robot technologiesharm human societies. For example, the use of robot technology inworkplaces puts less value on human workers while the long termimplications of genetic engineering on human health are not known. Itis important to note that although there are some alleged harmsassociated with some of these technologies, they are not relevantcompared to the benefits associated with them (Menon, 2011).Technology enhances all aspects of human life, and therefore helps usrather than harm us.

Leadership

Theword leadership isassociatedwith several figures. Itincludesthe political leaders who provide political representation for themasses, social and community leader whom other people in a socialgroup follow. In leadership, the leaders are the organizationexecutives who are directly responsible for the smooth running of thebusiness organization. Therefore, leadership helps other people dothe right thing. For example, if the leader of a group using a paththrough a jungle follows the wrong direction, the whole group will belost. Similarly, if the leadership in an organization adopts thewrong strategy, the organizationwill ultimately fail. Thus, leadership involves creating a clear andreasonablevision and mission, sharing the vision, and motivating people towillingly follow the vision. Moreover, leadership is also useful in supporting the followersthrough sharing information and knowledge on how to achieve thevision, and coordinate the conflicting interests ofthe group.

Furthermore, leadership has the responsibility of identifying necessary skills. Itbrings them on board and guides them towards the desired goals. It isimportant to note that leadership is usually confused withmanagement. While management is a learned skill thatistaughtin school, leadership is learnedthrough experience, mentoring and coaching. Whenever one thinks aboutleadership, business leadership comes into the picture. However, leadershipis involved in all aspects of the human society (DuBrin, 2011). Thelarger focus on business leadership is mainly because of themostdeveloped structures and demand of leadership in the businessenvironment. Thestudy of leadership hasled to the development of several leadership theories, styles, and approaches. These leadership theories, styles, and approaches are, however, applicable toall aspect of leadership, despite beingmainly derivedfrom business and military (DuBrin, 2011).

Asseen from the non-academic and the European perspective, leadershipusually entails a view of a leader whomaybe movedby both the search for power as well as by the communitarian goals.Asin the model of transformational leadership, the leaders usually setin the direction as well as assist themselves and others to do thecorrect things to move forward. As such, those in leadership createan inspiring goal, and then motivate, and subsequently inspire andmotivate other people to reach the establishedgoal.More so, they manage the delivery of that vision either indirectly,or directly. They build as well as coach the members of the team tostrengthen them.

Thosein leadership must communicate in a manner that makes the individualsfeelwhat they are supposed to do. Leadership requires the leader to keepin mind the fact that persons should believe in them, and understandthat they are behind any message that isprovided. It is also worth to note that different situations require varioustypes of leadership. For instance, during the emergency, there is usually verylittletime to assemble and agree. In such a situation, the autocraticleadership is paramount (DuBrin, 2011). The autocraticleadership would be more useful where the authority that isdesignated has more expertise or experience than the other members ofthe team do. More so, laissezor Democraticleadership will be usefulin a team that is highly aligned and motivated, with the level ofexpertise that is homogenous. Therefore, the style of leadership toadopt must be the one that can achieve the objectives of the group inan efficientmanner and at the same time balancing the interests of the individualmembers.

Technology

Technologyis a necessary element in the modernworld. In this paper, the argument is that efficiency associated withtechnology helps human societies more that it hurts them. The impactof technology in the modern world is difficult to measure orquantify. All aspects of life are affected by technology. Referenceto the effectsof technology on human life has focused on advanced technologies suchas computers, robots, and genetic engineering. However, technologiesthat arenot consideredin these discussions have anenormous impact onthe modern world. For example, a ballpoint pen may be a simpletechnology but has had atremendous impact onhuman life. Some of the most important ways through which technologyhelps the human societies include increased access to information, improved communication, improved lifestyles, entertainment, increasedefficiency and productivity, convenience, new social networkingsites, improved security and enhanced health (Menon, 2011). Thus, technologies are associated with great discoveries in all aspects oflife.

However, some technologieshavebeen linked toadverseimpacts on human societies. Critics have argued that some of thetechnologies such as genetic modification, nuclear energy, computersystems, and robot technologies harm human societies. For example, the use of robot technology in workplaces puts less value on humanworkers while the long-term implications of genetic engineering onhuman health are not known. It is important to note that althoughthere are some alleged harms associated with some of thesetechnologies, they are not relevant compared to the benefitsassociated with them (Menon, 2011). Technology enhances all aspectsof human lifeand, therefore, helps us rather than harm us.

Differentaspects provethe fact that technology enhancesthe aspects of human life rather than harming them. As technologycontinues to advance and enableimproveeven more easiness in the human life, there is a needto stress the manner in which it is advantageous. One of the areas inwhich technology has been of great benefit to the human life is inthe industry of health. The current up to date electronic equipmenthas been invented and as such, the machines have enhanced the qualityof treatment of the patients at the institutions of health. More so,these machines have increased the chances of survival of the patientswithdifferent diseases such as cancer. In addition to the electronicmachines at the hospital, another notable advantage of technology isthat through it, the doctors and other health personnel havediscovered a lot of health issues when they are in their early stagesof developing (Menon, 2011). As such, through technology, the doctorstreat these health problems early enough before they develop intoadverse stages.

Whenit comes to business, technology has enhanced the human life byimprovingcommunication. The use of technology in the companyis paramountbecause, through its use, the employees can use the phones as well as theinter-office mailsto pass messages from one person to the other. Moreover, the use ofthe electronic mails in the workplace assists the people tosend their messages instantlywithout causing any interruption to the recipient. The use oftechnology in the business also fosters the communication among thebusinesspartners, the clients, and the business. Usually, this is madepossible because the information from any party can be sent throughnumerous channels, almost immediately and instantly.
